Supply Boost Stabilizes Fuel Stock Levels After Recent Increase

Following a notable surge in fuel supply the previous week, the nation’s fuel stocks remain relatively stable, according to the latest government figures as of midnight Wednesday. The current data indicates a slight decrease in petrol and jet fuel supplies, with each down by three days’ worth of stock. Conversely, diesel supplies have seen a modest increase.

Specifically, the country holds 56.2 days’ worth of petrol, 46.3 days of diesel, and 47.7 days of jet fuel, either currently in stock or en route. This marks a change from the previous report, which recorded 59 days’ worth of petrol, 45.2 days of diesel, and 50.2 days of jet fuel. Despite these fluctuations, the government has assured that fuel stocks are still well above the minimum required levels and remain within normal operational ranges.

The recent increase in fuel stocks can be attributed to several substantial shipments that have recently set sail for New Zealand. This pattern of large stock increases followed by gradual declines occurs because the incoming shipments are promptly utilized before the arrival of the next batch.

Regular shipments continue to arrive as planned, and fuel importers have expressed confidence due to confirmed orders extending through late June. This ongoing schedule of imports ensures that the country’s fuel supply remains consistent and reliable.
